About ScratchCheck
Bringing transparency to lottery odds
The odds are public. We make them visible.
Every state lottery publishes scratch-off odds. It's required by law. But finding that data, comparing it across games, and figuring out which tickets are actually worth buying is a different story. The information lives across dozens of state websites in inconsistent formats, buried in PDFs, updated without notice, and nearly impossible to compare side by side.
That's the problem ScratchCheck was built to solve.
Why We Built This
ScratchCheck was founded by a team with a background in data infrastructure and software engineering. The frustration wasn't with the lottery itself. It was with the fact that publicly available information was so scattered and inaccessible that most players were making purchase decisions with almost no real context.
The data existed. Nobody had organized it. So we did.
What We Do
ScratchCheck aggregates scratch-off lottery data from official state and government lottery websites across the US, Canada, and international markets. Our systems monitor official lottery sources daily and update rankings automatically as prizes are claimed and prize pools change. We present everything in a clean, sortable format designed to make comparison fast and straightforward.
We currently cover:
- 49 Regions with active scratch-off ticket sales
We're always expanding. If your market isn't listed yet, we're likely working on it.
How We Evaluate Tickets
Raw odds only tell part of the story. Two tickets at the same price point can look similar on the surface but perform very differently when you account for prize structure, remaining top prizes, and overall return on spend. That's why we built two proprietary evaluation systems on top of the raw data.
ValueScore™ is our expected value rating system. It analyzes the full prize distribution, remaining prize counts, payout structure, and opportunity cost benchmarks to produce a score that reflects how a ticket performs relative to its cost. It's not a prediction of outcome. It's a measure of how efficiently your dollar is working given the available data at the time of calculation.
GREEN and ORANGE tiers give you an at-a-glance signal on ticket quality. GREEN tickets meet our threshold for reasonable expected value relative to price. ORANGE tickets fall below it. The tier system is designed for players who want a quick read without digging into the full dataset. Both tiers update automatically as prize pools shift.
We're not changing the odds. We're changing how visible they are.
Free and Independent
ScratchCheck is an independent informational platform. We are not affiliated with any state lottery commission, lottery retailer, or gaming operator. We have no financial relationship with any lottery and no incentive to favor any particular game or market.
The platform is free to use. We keep it that way through advertising. The data and analysis are never behind a paywall.
Always Growing
Lottery markets are constantly changing and so are we. New states, provinces, and international markets are added on an ongoing basis as our coverage expands. New features and data points are in active development.
If you have a suggestion for a market we should cover, a ticket we're missing, or a data correction to flag, we want to hear from you. User feedback has directly shaped the platform and that's not changing. We're also actively developing new ways to evaluate tickets beyond expected value. If you have an idea for a metric that would help you play smarter, send it to [email protected]. The best features on this platform have come from people who use it.
