Someone finally won the $35.5 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot on a ticket sold in Washington, Indiana

A single ticket sold in Washington, Indiana matched all six numbers in Wednesday night's Hoosier Lotto drawing and won the $35.5 million jackpot. According to the Hoosier Lottery, the ticket was purchased at Casey's #3695 at 1466 S. State Road 57 in Washington.

The winning numbers for Wednesday, September 2, were 15, 16, 22, 24, 43, and 44. No winner has come forward as of this writing. The lottery said the ticket holder should keep the ticket somewhere secure, consider meeting with a financial advisor, and call customer service at  1-800-955-6886 for claim instructions. The prize must be claimed by March 1, 2027.

"This is an incredibly exciting moment for the Hoosier Lottery and for our players," Executive Director Sarah M. Taylor said in the announcement. "There is nothing quite like seeing a large Hoosier Lotto jackpot being won, and I look forward to celebrating this $35.5 million win!"

The jackpot had been building for over a year, since August 16, 2025, when a ticket bought at Jack's Place in Columbus won an estimated $9.9 million. Over the 12 and a half months since, it grew to $35.5 million. The Hoosier Lottery said that before Wednesday's win it was the second largest state lottery jackpot in the country and the fourth largest lottery jackpot overall.

For a game that sells a $2 ticket in one state, that is an unusual high jackpot. Indiana's biggest recent jackpot headline before this was a share of the $143.4 million Powerball prize split with Kansas in April.

The jackpot resets to an estimated $1 million for Saturday, September 5. Hoosier Lotto costs $2, and the $1 +PLUS add-on enters a second drawing held right after the main one with its own $1 million top prize. The lottery lists overall odds of 1 in 6 for both.
