A Georgia player won $1 million and an Ohio player $2 million on Monday's Powerball drawing

Two Powerball tickets matched all five white balls in Monday's drawing, one in Georgia and one in Ohio. They hit the same numbers and missed the same red ball, and one paid twice as much as the other.
The winning numbers on September 14 were 19, 20, 57, 61, and 67, with a red Powerball of 22 and a 2x Power Play. No ticket matched all six, so the jackpot rises to an estimated $271 million for Wednesday, with a cash value of about $115.1 million.
| Where sold | Store | Matched | Prize |
|---|---|---|---|
| Newnan, Georgia | JD Food Mart, 100 Temple Ave. | 5 white balls | $1,000,000 |
| Powell, Ohio | Sawmill Parkway Duchess | 5 white balls, with Power Play | $2,000,000 |
| Medina, Ohio | Get Go | 4 white balls + Powerball, with Power Play | $100,000 |
The Georgia Lottery confirmed the Newnan ticket, and Ohio Lottery records list the two Ohio prizes. The Powell ticket's numbers were picked by the player, and the Medina ticket was an auto pick, according to those records.
A $1 Power Play add-on doubled the Match 5 prize
The difference between the Georgia and Powell tickets is Power Play, an extra $1 per play. On a standard $2 ticket, matching five white balls pays $1 million. With Power Play it pays $2 million, and that amount does not change with the multiplier. A 2x draw and a 10x draw pay the same $2 million at that tier.
The lower prizes do scale with the multiplier. Four white balls and the Powerball pays $50,000 on its own, and the 2x Power Play drawn Monday turned the Medina ticket into $100,000. Across the country, four tickets won that $50,000 prize and two more won $100,000 with Power Play.
Both prizes are rare. Matching all five white balls without the Powerball is a 1 in 11,688,053 chance on a single play, and four white balls plus the Powerball is 1 in 913,129. How the rest of the prize table stacks up is in what a Powerball ticket wins.
The jackpot reset to $20 million on August 15 after the $1.04 billion Illinois win and has now gone 14 drawings without a winner.
