A Berea man won the top prize on the Ohio Lottery's $50 Millionaire Blowout scratch-off, the lottery said Friday, September 11.

The prize for the annuity is $40,000 a year for 25 years and he took the $500,000 cash option. Dairy Deli at 17791 Sheldon Rd. in Middleburg Heights sold the ticket.

He is not the first to win the top prize on this game. A Toledo player hit the same top prize in July, took the same cash option, and won another $25,000 on the next ticket.

No scratch-off in America has more $1 million prizes left than Millionaire Blowout

The lottery says 54 top prizes remain as of this writing, and our tracker agrees. The game originally started with 60 $1 million prizes. That is the largest pool of unclaimed $1 million-plus top prizes on any scratch-off currently sold in the United States, and it is not close.

Six have been claimed since the game launched on June 23, and about 11.6% of the print run has sold. Ten percent of the top prizes gone against 11.6% of tickets sold is close to an even pace.

With 60 top prizes spread across a run of roughly 5.2 million tickets, a $1 million winner comes up about once in every 86,000 tickets. Ohio's other big $50 games tell the story from the other side, since Ultimate $5,000,000 has three top prizes left and VIP Millions, 89% sold, has six.

A $50 ticket where the smallest win is $75

Millionaire Blowout has no prize at $50 or below. The bottom tier is $75, and it covers 1,381,632 of the 1,895,398 printed prizes, so the most common win on the ticket still puts a player $25 ahead of what they paid.

The game pays back 81.7% of sales and rates 95.6 on our ValueScore™, still the best score in Ohio. It rated 97.2 when the Toledo win was announced in July, and the small drop reflects the tickets sold since.

A $1 million headline, a $500,000 check

The cash option on this game is exactly half the advertised prize. That is a lower conversion than some other big scratch-off annuities pay.
