Connecticut put four new scratch-offs on sale on July 31, running from $2 up to $20, and one of them is a genuinely strong ticket. Here's each with its price, top prize and ValueScore™, our 0 to 100 rating of what a ticket is really worth, current as of launch time.

Lucky 7 Tripler is comfortably the pick of the four. The $20 ticket carries a $777,777 top prize and rates 90.4, well inside our Excellent range, with a 73.8% payout percentage and overall odds of 1 in 3.12, so close to one in three tickets wins something. All four top prizes were unclaimed at launch.

$10 Million Cash Blowout 2nd Edition ($10)

$10 Million Cash Blowout 2nd Edition needs a word of explanation, because the name is doing something different from what most players will assume. The $10 million refers to the total prize pool spread across the entire game, not a jackpot. The largest single prize you can win is $500, and there were 1,958 of them on offer.

Which one to buy

Lucky 7 Tripler is the clear answer if you're happy spending $20, since a 90.4 puts it among the stronger games in the country and its payout percentage beats everything else here. The $3 LOTERIA is a reasonable cheap option, and the $2 game is more about a quick scratch than value.

The Cash Blowout is the one to think about rather than grab. A $500 ceiling on a $10 ticket suits a player who'd rather have a realistic shot at a few hundred dollars than a remote shot at a life-changing sum, and there's nothing wrong with that, but the name will pull in people expecting something else entirely.
