A law firm's trust claims $1 million on a $2,000,000 Stacked ticket sold in Massachusetts

A $1 million prize on the $20 $2,000,000 Stacked scratch ticket was sold at Cumberland Farms, 29 Hardwick Road in Gilbertville, Massachusetts, the Massachusetts State Lottery said. Baker Law Group Mass Lottery Trust XXII of Hingham claimed it.

The trust, represented by trustee Michael Baker, took a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes instead of $50,000 a year for 20 years. Baker said the winner plans to put the money toward retirement. The winner's name was not released. Massachusetts lets a trust claim a prize on a winner's behalf, and Baker's firm has claimed several large prizes that way. Which states allow anonymous claims varies widely.
$2,000,000 Stacked went on sale February 17 with about 11.1 million tickets. Its five $1 million prizes started at 1 in 2,217,600, and three are still unclaimed. The game's 14 top prizes of $2 million, paid at $100,000 a year for 20 years, started at 1 in 792,000, and 10 remain, the lottery's game page showed October 17. About 38% of the tickets have sold. That puts a ticket bought now at roughly 1 in 686,000 for a $2 million prize and 1 in 2.3 million for one of the $1 million prizes.
The lottery estimates the game's payout at 80.4% of sales, with overall odds of 1 in 2.94. It rates 84.6 on our ValueScore™, first of Massachusetts' nine active $20 tickets. Another trust, the Carrow Road Trust, claimed $25 million on Mega Money earlier this fall.
