A Huber Heights woman won a $1 million top prize on a $10 $1,000,000 Black Titanium scratch-off bought at Meijer #241, 7150 Executive Blvd., the Ohio Lottery said Friday. The lottery identified her as Kimberlin Sawyer.

She and her husband, Brian, had agreed on a code phrase in case either of them won: "Meet me at Frickers." When it happened, she bought four Black Titanium tickets, saw $40,000 a year for 25 years on one, and could barely talk on the phone, so he thought she had been in an accident. She finally got out, “I just scratched a million dollars!” They did go to Frickers that night to celebrate.

Brian believes his wife manifested the win. She always told him she wanted to win for him, the lottery said, and she would say, “I don’t need to be rich, I just want to pay off the house” and take some pressure off him after his long hours at work. After she won, she looked in the mirror and told herself, “You did it girl!” A few days later, she said, “Everything is more fun!”

The couple took the lump sum and will receive $366,625 after the mandatory 26.75% in state and federal withholding. They had been looking at houses the day before, and the money will go toward one with more room for their family. It wasn't her first win; she once hit $10,000 playing penny slots at a local casino, the lottery said.

$1,000,000 Black Titanium went on sale August 6 with five top prizes, paid as $40,000 a year for 25 years, and three are left, the lottery's game page showed Sunday. About 28% of its tickets have sold, and 28 of 38 prizes of $20,000 remain. Overall odds are 1 in 3.54. The game returns 71.8% of sales as prizes, the lowest of Ohio's 21 active $10 tickets, against a 73.0% average, but with most of its top prizes unclaimed it rates 64.0 on our ValueScore™, fifth of 21. Ohio's best-paying scratch-offs are mostly at $30 and $50.
