Kentucky launched five new scratch-offs on sale September 10, and one of the games moves straight to the top of the state.

Witches Brew Bucks$3$30,00066.7%1 in 3.8054.9

Kentucky's shelf runs 56 games with an average payout of 70.9% and an average score of 48.1, and four of these five open above that.

Maximum Money Blowout has three prize levels and nothing else

The whole prize table for the $20 Maximum Money Blowout is $100, $200, and $2,000. There is no jackpot tier and no low tier (like a free ticket). A $20 ticket either loses or pays at least five times its price.

$2,0001,6871 in 1,463
$20040,8421 in 60

The game wins on one ticket in 8.52, roughly half as often as the average Kentucky $20 game at 1 in 4.32. What it gives back is the size of the win. Across the 287,245 printed prizes the average payout is about $125, against about $64 for a typical Kentucky $20 ticket.

It also has no money-back tier, and that is unusual. About four in ten scratch-off prizes nationally just hand back the ticket price (free ticket), so a headline like 1 in 4 overstates how often a player comes out ahead. At 79.8 this is the highest ValueScore™ game in Kentucky at the moment.

Kentucky already sells a similar game. Mega Bonus Blowout is a $20 game with the same $2,000 ceiling, 1 in 9.93 odds, and a 73.5% payout. It rates 65.5 after selling a third of its run.

The $5 and $3 games are more conventional

Fun 5's and Chills & Bills open within a point of each other, at 70.3 and 70.2. Fun 5's carries the bigger top prize at $75,000 with four printed, plus tiers at $2,500 and $1,000 that Chills & Bills does not have. Chills & Bills wins slightly more often, 1 in 3.71 against 1 in 3.80.

Cash Overload trails at 61.0 despite the same 71.3% payout, because its prize table is bottom-heavy. More than 830,000 of its prizes are $5 or $10, and it wins less often at 1 in 4.11.

Witches Brew Bucks is the Halloween ticket, a $3 game with three top prizes of $30,000. At 66.7% it returns the least of the five, normal enough for the price. Kentucky's $3 games average 65.7% and its $2 games 63.5%, against 73.6% at $20.

Current standings for these and the rest of the state are on the Kentucky page, and the national list is our best value rankings.
