A Lorain County man has won $50,000 on the $2,000,000 Cashword scratch-off, an Ohio Lottery game that costs $30. According to the Ohio Lottery, his car broke down recently and he has been walking to work for the past two weeks. The walk took him past Daily Mart at 1442 Oberlin Ave. in Lorain, where he bought the ticket.

The father of nine told the lottery he feels the win was meant to happen, because if he had not been walking he would never have stopped at that store to buy the ticket in the first place.

He played the ticket as he walked down the street. He started with the Quick Win Bonus box and won $10,000, and said he could not believe what he was seeing. Three Bonus Words added another $30,000. Then he matched 12 words across the two puzzles for a final $10,000, bringing the ticket to $50,000. When he told his family, everyone started crying.

He plans to pay off his car after the repairs are complete and invest the rest.
