Louisiana's 41 active games average a 62.0% payout, the third lowest of the 39 states we can rank, ahead of only New Mexico at 60.5% and Montana at 60.7%. Where every state ranks can be seen in our state payout rankings.

No money-back prizes on the two bigger games

One design choice works in players' favor. The smallest prize on Jumbo Bucks is $15 on a $10 ticket, and the smallest on Giant Bucks is $10 on a $5 ticket. Neither game has a prize that only returns the price, so any winning ticket comes out ahead. About four in ten scratch-off prizes nationally just hand the money back.

It also means the odds are not padded. Without any break-even wins in the count, Jumbo Bucks still wins on one ticket in 3.68, better than the national $10 average of 1 in 4.07, and it carries 6 top prizes of $200,000.

All four games launched with full prize pools, so their ratings will fall as they sell. Louisiana's previous launch was three games in August, and the full list of games is on the Louisiana page.
