Circle K worker accused of cashing stolen scratch-offs at the Summerville store where she worked

A 25-year-old Richland County woman has been charged with lottery fraud, accused of stealing South Carolina Education Lottery scratch-offs from a Summerville convenience store where she worked and cashing them in at the same store.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Iveta Zavon Charmaine Gilliard on Monday, September 28, with Intent to Defraud, Counterfeit Game Tickets, the agency said in a release Thursday, October 1. The lottery requested the investigation. Gilliard was booked into the Dorchester County Detention Center. She has not been convicted and is presumed innocent.
According to the arrest warrant, between April 2 and April 26, 2026, Gilliard allegedly passed multiple stolen lottery tickets at Circle K #2720788, 207 Old Trolley Road in Summerville, and received cash payouts for them. The warrant says the tickets were stolen from that same Circle K while she was employed there, and that she was identified by store management. It lists the South Carolina Education Lottery as the victim of the lost funds but does not give a dollar amount or the number of tickets.
The case was filed in Dorchester County and will be prosecuted by the 1st Circuit Solicitor's Office. The warrant lists a Columbia address for Gilliard.
It is the second lottery fraud case SLED has announced against a Richland County resident this week. On September 28 the agency announced charges against a man accused of stealing $600 in scratch-offs from a Columbia Circle K and cashing one for $10. Earlier cases in the state include store employees charged with scratch-off fraud and a clerk charged after a social media photo.
