New Jersey had two $1 million winners from scratch-offs last week

Two $1 million scratch-off prizes led the New Jersey Lottery's list of big winners for October 12 through 18, out of 13 draw and scratch-off prizes of $10,000 or more. One finished off a game's top prizes, and the other came from a game that launched in September. The lottery did not name either winner.
The first, listed for October 14, was a $20 $100 Million Diamond Dazzler ticket sold at Wawa #8315, 3600 US Highway 9 in Old Bridge, Middlesex County. New Jersey Lottery data now shows none of the game's three $1 million top prizes left, so this was the last one. The game also stopped selling October 16. It started with about 8.5 million tickets, 1 in 2,833,680 for each top prize, and it returned 72.8% of sales as prizes over its run.

The second, listed for October 16, was a $20 Black Opal 7's ticket sold at Mak on Main Liquors, 1500 Main St. in Asbury Park, Monmouth County. Black Opal 7's went on sale September 2 with three $1 million top prizes in about 7.3 million tickets, and two remain. About 15% of the tickets have sold, so a ticket bought now has roughly a 1 in 3.1 million chance at one of the two. The game was busy all week. Three more Black Opal 7's tickets won $10,000 each, sold in Hoboken, New Egypt, and Toms River, and 50 of its 60 prizes of $10,000 are left.
Black Opal 7's returns 76.5% of sales, the most of New Jersey's eight active $20 tickets, against their 74.0% average, and it rates 84.3 on our ValueScore™, second among them. It tops New Jersey's ladder of 7's tickets, which runs from $2 to $20. Elsewhere on the week's list, a Jersey Cash 5 ticket sold in Verona won $708,751 and a Crossword Bonanza ticket from a Middletown ShopRite won $400,000.
