Random Number Generator

Powerball numbers, generated.

A free Quick Pick alternative powered by cryptographic RNG, with five pick strategies: pure random, hot numbers, cold numbers, low split, and balanced. Each one is labeled honestly with what it can and cannot do.

Generator
Strategy
DefaultCryptographic RNG. Every combination is equally likely. The only mathematically neutral pick.
Plays per generation
Pick Powerball numbers your way.
5 unique balls from 1 to 69, plus 1 Powerball from 1 to 26. Choose a strategy and hit Generate above.
Heads up. Every mode has identical odds of winning to a retail Quick Pick or any numbers you choose yourself. Drawings are independent of how a ticket was filled out. Hot, Cold, and Balanced are entertainment. Low Split is the one exception with a real (if small) benefit: it avoids popular picks, so a jackpot win is less likely to be shared.
How it works

Three steps to your numbers.

  1. STEP 1
    Pick a strategy
Pure Random is the default and the only mathematically neutral choice. Hot and Cold weight picks by the past 12 months of real drawings, Low Split avoids popular patterns to reduce jackpot sharing, and Balanced evens the odd/even and low/high spread.
  2. STEP 2
    Choose how many plays
Pick 1, 2, 5, or 10 plays. Each play is a complete Powerball ticket: 5 main numbers plus 1 Powerball.
  3. STEP 3
    Hit Generate
The generator picks 5 unique numbers from 1 to 69, plus 1 Powerball from 1 to 26, using your browser cryptographic RNG.
  4. STEP 4
    Copy or play
Use the Copy button to grab the plays as text, then enter them on a play slip at any retailer. Or just take a screenshot.
FAQ

Common questions.

Are random Powerball numbers more likely to win?

No. Lottery drawings are independent of how a ticket was filled out. Random numbers from this generator have identical odds to a retail Quick Pick or any set of numbers you pick yourself. The math does not change.

What is the Powerball matrix?

Powerball draws 5 main numbers from a pool of 1 to 69 (no repeats), plus 1 Powerball from a separate pool of 1 to 26. Match all to win the jackpot.

How is the randomness generated?

The generator uses your browser crypto.getRandomValues API, which is the same kind of cryptographically strong random source used for security tokens. It does not call any server, so your numbers are never logged anywhere.

Can I generate the same play twice?

Two plays in the same generation can theoretically come up identical, just like at the retail terminal. With trillions of possible combinations the odds of a duplicate in a 10-play batch are vanishingly small.

Should I play the same numbers every draw?

It does not matter mathematically. The numbers from the last drawing are no more or less likely to come up next. Pick a strategy that you enjoy and stick with it for fun, not for an edge that does not exist.

Do hot or cold Powerball numbers improve my odds?

No. The Hot and Cold modes weight picks by how often each number was drawn over the past 12 months, using real drawing data, but every drawing is independent. A number that came up ten times last year is exactly as likely as any other number in the next draw. These modes are labeled "for fun" because that is what they are.

What does the Low Split mode actually do?

It avoids combinations many other players tend to pick: birthday-heavy sets with every number 31 or under, consecutive runs, and evenly spaced patterns. This does not change your odds of winning at all. It changes what happens if you win: fewer people are likely to hold the same numbers, so a jackpot is less likely to be split. It is the only mode here with a real mathematical benefit, and even that benefit only matters in the rare event of a jackpot hit.
