A Pennsylvania Lottery scratch-off that pays $500,000 a year for life was sold at the Speedway at 410 5th St. in New Brighton Borough, Beaver County, the lottery said Monday. The store gets a $10,000 bonus. The lottery did not name the winner, who can choose the annual payments of $500,000 for the rest of their life or a cash option of $7.25 million before tax withholdings.

It is the second top prize on the $20 $500,000 a Year for Life announced in a week. On September 29 the lottery said a store on East Warrington Avenue in Pittsburgh had sold one, part of two big Allegheny County tickets totaling $8.25 million. Another top prize, $1 million, came from a Snake, Rattle and Roll ticket sold in Wilkins Township days later.

The game went on sale in late December 2025 with five top prizes in a run of about 8.4 million tickets, or one per 1.68 million tickets. On October 6, Pennsylvania Lottery data still listed three of the five as unclaimed, the same count it showed a week earlier, before this claim was announced. If New Brighton's prize hasn't been counted yet, two are left, and with about 49% of tickets sold, a ticket bought now has roughly a 1 in 2.15 million chance at one. If three remain, the odds are about 1 in 1.43 million. Four of the game's ten $50,000 prizes are also still out there.

It returns 77.8% of sales as prizes, counting the lifetime prize at its $7.25 million cash value, close to Pennsylvania's $20 average of 78.0%. It rates 69.5 on our ValueScore™, fourth of the state's five active $20 games. Its $50 sibling, $1,000,000 a Year for Life, rates 72.0.

Pennsylvania scratch-off prizes expire one year from the game's end-sale date posted at palottery.com, and the lottery tells winners to sign the back of the ticket right away and call 1-800-692-7481. The lottery also notes that it learns where a winning ticket was sold only after the prize is claimed.
