A ticket bought in the United Kingdom matched all five white balls in Monday's Powerball drawing, the third British winner of the game's £1 million second prize since Powerball went on sale there in July 2026. The numbers on October 12 were 22, 28, 38, 51, and 69, with a red Powerball of 9. The UK ticket was the only one anywhere to match the five white balls, and no ticket hit the jackpot. Because of the time difference, The National Lottery lists the drawing as Tuesday, October 13. The winner has not been named, and UK winners can stay anonymous.

The earlier British winners came in the August 31 drawing, which a New York ticket also hit, and the September 21 drawing. Across the 36 drawings since the UK launch, 50 tickets have matched five white balls, counting Power Play wins. Three were British.

The UK prize is a flat £1,000,000. At the European Central Bank's reference rate of $1.3247 per pound on October 13, that's about $1,324,700, and the UK takes no tax on lottery winnings. An American Match 5 ticket pays $1 million, or $2 million with Power Play, before 24% federal withholding (37% federal taxes overall). The odds of matching five white balls without the Powerball are 1 in 11,688,053 on either side of the Atlantic.

With no jackpot winner, Wednesday's estimated jackpot rose to $562 million, with a cash option of about $230.4 million, WNEP and other TEGNA stations reported. No UK player has won the Powerball jackpot yet.
